Day 1 - Melbourne – Apollo Bay (200 KM)

G’Day and Welcome to Melbourne! This morning upon arrival at Melbourne airport, please proceed to Thrifty counter to collect your keys to your rental car. Then drive away for your tour, which takes you along The Great Ocean Road where you will experience one of the world's most spectacular coastal drives. The Great Ocean Road was recently voted by Conde Nast Traveller magazine as the “Best Coastal Drive on the Planet”. Travel via the Westgate Bridge to Geelong, Australia's most important wool port. You may wish to visit the National Wool Museum, and experience the world of wool, from sheep's back to authentic wool sales. Continue your journey along the surf coast to Apollo Bay passing through Torquay and Bell's Beach which features on the World Championship Surfing Calendar. This area boasts some of the best surf beaches in Australia. Further along the coast are the fishing villages and holiday resorts of Anglesea, Lorne and Apollo Bay where you will check in and freshen up before continuing your journey. Continue your journey along The Great Ocean Road the world's most inspiring drive is utterly breathtaking. Huge rolling waves have carved spectacular shapes from the limestone cliffs, which today stand majestically in the ocean. The most photographed is the Twelve Apostles and the Loch Ard Gorge. Day 2 - Apollo Bay – Grampians N.P. (270 KM)

This morning depart Apollo Bay after breakfast. You’ll head North towards Hamilton. You may like to take a short detour after leaving Port Fairy to Tower Hill located next to the historic township of Koroit on the Princes Highway. Tower Hill State Game Reserve sits inside an extinct volcano and is a beautiful haven for wildlife with koalas, emus, kangaroos and many species of waterbirds roaming freely. It formed some 30,000 years ago in a violent volcanic eruption that created a funnel-shaped crater (later filled by a lake), creeks and islands. You may want to join a walking tour conducted by experienced guides with specific knowledge about Tower Hill’s history, geology, fauna and flora where you will be provided with detailed knowledge of park management issues including koalas, kangaroos, emus, bird-life, sugar gliders and the significance of natural habitat for hundreds of native species. The journey continues into the craggy Grampians with its bizarre rock sculptures, aboriginal paintings and tumbling waterfalls. In spring the Grampians is awash with the magnificent colours of the wildflowers. Upon arrival at Halls Gap, visit the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural and Information Centre. Catch superb views from Reid Lookout and walk to The Balconies. See McKenzie falls and stop at Zumsteins for a picnic. Accommodation: Halls Gap – Pinnacle Holiday Lodge

Day 3 - Grampians – Mt Gambier – Robe (350 KM)

Breakfast at accommodation. Depart Halls Gap to continue your journey to Robe via Mt Gambier. Volcanic lakes and craters provide a focal point in the Mount Gambier district. It also hosts some of the most popular wine region in the country, the Coonawarra and Padthaway wine growing districts. Explore Mt Gambier known by the name 'Blue Lake City' before travelling onto the seaside town of Robe. Robe was once one of South Australia's most important ports, exporting wool and horses and the major arrival for thousand of Chinese people on their way to the Victorian Goldfields during the Gold Rush. They landed here and walked hundreds of kilometres to the fields to avoid the high tax imposed by the Government of the time. The area is now a popular Seaside Resort. Day 4 - Robe – Adelaide (330 KM)

Make your way along the South East Coast, through the internationally significant wetland areas of the Coorong. Follow the Princes Highway to join the Dukes Highway at Tallem Bend and cross the Murray River before driving into Adelaide. As capital of the Festival State, Adelaide plays host to a variety of festivals. Many revolve around the arts, wine sports, ethnic heritage and Adelaide's inherent sense of fun. Day 5 - Adelaide – Onward Flights

Breakfast at accommodation. Check out of your hotel. It is time to say good-bye to Adelaide! Drive away to catch your onward flight. Upon arrival at airport, return your vehicle to Airport Depot.
