Welcome! Upon your arrival at San José International Airport our English-speaking representative will greet you and escort you to your hotel. At this time you will be provided a short briefing and an informative travel handout.

After breakfast, you leave San Jose and continue your journey to Arenal Volcano in a private vehicle with your personal guide. On the way to Arenal you will drive through the city of Alajuela passing by the monument of the national hero of Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. You finally arrive at the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. You will continue by walking spectacular trails amidst the rain forest, which will take you to the ‘White Magic Waterfall’, the most spectacular waterfall in the area. Inside the park, you will also visit one of the largest butterfly observatory in the country, a collection of tropical jewels, and the impressive hummingbird gallery, serpentarium, birds’ house & frogs exhibit and enjoy the gorgeous views of the 5 waterfalls. Once you have finished your walk, you will enjoy a delicious buffet-style lunch in the restaurant belonging to the garden. In the afternoon and after lunch you will continue to la Fortuna in Arenal.

During a hike with your guide, you will explore the secondary forest of Arenal Volcano National Park and walk on the lava fields at the foot of Arenal Volcano. The 'Mirador 1968' is an adjacent place to the Natinalpark Arenal, the visitor has 2 great ways to enjoy the volcano and the natural environment. For Example: Sendero El Bosque 1968 '. The walk through the mainly secondary forest takes about 2 hours. This allows observing a variety of animals such as monkeys , toucans and oropendulas. This hike is classified as moderate to difficult. The second trail called Sendero ' Colada 1968 ' has a length of 1 km and is easily walkable . Visitors enjoy fantastic views of the volcano or the lake. Among other things, old lava rocks are seen and traversed, whitnesses from the year 1968. After that together with your guide, you visit the La Fortuna Waterfall, close to the Arenal Volcano and surrounded by lush nature. The waterfall has its origin in the mountains of the national park, for example the Cerro de los Perdidos, Placas de Mayo, Cerro Chato. These are standing on a very rich ground which is the reason for the scenic beauty of this environment. If you wish, you can have a refreshing swim in the pool of the 70m high waterfall! The rest of the evening you will spend at the luxurious hot springs of Tabacon Resort & Spa. Enjoy a day of relaxation and soaking in warm pools. Warm waters and waterfalls, surrounding by tropical vegetation and spectacular views of the massive Arenal Volcano offer a perfect spot for recharging your batteries and enjoy your vacation at the fullest. Try the Jacuzzi, hydromassage or simply gaze at the exotic palm trees, flowers and coffee trees. The thermals waters rich in minerals have beneficial effects and aid muscle relaxation, skin cleansing and eliminate stress.

Today a ride around the Arenal Lake takes you to Tilarán and finally 35 km of adventurous gravel road winding its way up to Sta. Elena in the Monteverde Cloud Forest region. After the Check In (around midday) you enjoy the tour “walk in the clouds”. The Sky Tram is a high technology cableway that includes a ride of 1600 meters (both ways) with altitudes between 1400 and 1600 m.a.s.l. The Sky Tram will lead you up to the Continental Divide and to one of the highest mountains of Monteverde. Sky Tram is a guided tour offering a panoramic view if the weather allows it. Later, enjoy the Sky Walk: a tour, which combines trails and suspension bridges with lengths of even 984 feet and heights above the canopy of Monteverde Cloud Forest. The tour gives you the opportunity to enjoy the flora and fauna of the area, always joined by one of our specialized guides. The tour lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours.

After breakfast you will admire more than 25 species of native frogs, toads and other amphibians living in large, naturally-simulated terrariums. A bilingual guide accompanies you during each tour and teaches you about the frogs’ history, habitat, and unique characteristics. Some of the frogs and toads on hand include the colorful poison arrow frog, crowned frog, marine toad, cane toad, leopard frog, hourglass frog, and the famous red-eyed tree frog.and adrenaline at speeds up to 40 miles per hour with distances ranging up to 2500 feet and heights of 524 feet. You may spend the morning as you wish. You might visit one of the various galleries or museums (optional - entrance fees not included) or enjoy a sightseeing tour with a private English speaking guide During the day transfer to the International Airport for your flight back home.
