Arrive Venice airport - Venice is more like a marvelous film set than a real live city, with its criss-crossing canals, gondolas and water buses, arched bridges, palaces, and little quiet piazzas. Transfer to hotel by water taxi and check in to hotel. Rest of day at leisure.

Explore the famous islands of the Venice lagoon - Murano, Burano and Torcello - on a half-day excursion. You'll see a glass-blowing display on Murano, shop for lace on Burano and visit Venice's first church on the tranquil island of Torcello. This morning or afternoon tour is a great introduction to the magical islands of the Venetian lagoon.Boarding a comfortable motor boat, you'll speed along the Venetian lagoon to Murano, famous for its glassware. During the visit you'll explore shops, factories and watch the skilled glass-blowers as they create works of art. You'll also have time to visit a museum showcasing the world-famous Murano glass.Re-board your motor boat you'll journey to the island of Burano to admire picturesque fishermen's houses painted in bright pastel colors, and, of course, the famous lace. You can visit a museum dedicated to the craft of lace, and purchase the beautiful lace at local shops.The last island stop is Torcello, the earliest center of civilization in the Venetian lagoon. This masterpiece of Romanesque art is surrounded by the equally beautiful baptistery (exterior visit) and cathedral (visit inside).You will then have free time to explore Pisa on your own.

If you'd like to visit the Vatican Museums without a guide, pre-book and skip the long entrance queues! Transfer by Easy jet flight from Rome to Geneva. Then travel by eurail to Interlaken- a mecca for visitors with its spectacular scenery. Day at leisure to exploit Interlaken’s Hoheweg- an inviting 700 meter long boulevard with hotels, cosy cafes, fashion boutiques, watch and jewellery stores.

This morning depart on an excursion from Interlaken up to Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe. This memorable train trip from Interlaken Ost takes you via Lauterbrunnen and Wengen to the Kleine Scheidegg, at the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall. Then ascent by the Jungfrau Railway to the magnificent mountain world of eternal ice and snow, Jungfraujoch-at 3454m, the highest railway station in Europe. Visit the Ice Palace and Sphinx Terraces offering breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps.

Today you experience a rail trip by the GoldenPass line from Interlaken to the city of lights - Lucerne (panoramic coach seats in 1st class only). Day is at leisure to explore the lovely city or visit the Swiss Transport Museum, the IMAX Theatre or the Lion Monument on your own.
